Drones for Photography and Videos

This course introduces students to unmanned aircraft systems including operations, maintenance and regulations applicable to small UAS (sUAS) operations. Explores the aesthetic principles of framing and movement for photographers and videographers. Applies principles of cinematography in photography and videography (frame rates, format, composition, rule of thirds, symmetry, perspective, parallax) to sUAS operations.

Students will learn how to integrate drone photography and drone video into narrative storylines. Students leave the course with a portfolio of drone photos and videos. The course emphasizes the ethical, legal and safe use of sUAS.
